War On Terrorism

"Why is it acceptable for us to live with fear, murder, destruction, displacement, the orphaning of children and the widowing of women but peace, security and happiness should be for you?" the voice asks. "This is not fair. Now is the time to become equals. Just like you kill us, we will kill you."

My Comments

Who is to blame for this? The United States or us. Everyone shares an equal responsibility in this matter. A couple of weeks ago, alot of people were against a US led strike on IRAQ and 2 days ago when the vote was taken, 15 out of 15 members voted yes to attack IRAQ.

I think this is insane! All countries who now support the US led strike are at risk. Are we doing the right thing? We all know that the United States is not in for that good of mankind. Disarming Iraq of their Nuclear Weapons is just another excuse to tap into Iraq's Oil reserves. Iraq is the world's 4th largest oil producer and if the US gains control, oil prices will drop. Works well for everyone? For those of us who drive, I know that gas prices have been soaring. However, think about the people, the families who will and have suffered from the loss of their children.

It is true, we live in the western societies and think that we are better than everyone else. We eat and live well, and have the opportunity to experience the pleasures of life. What we don't realize is the reason why we are able to sustain this kind of lifestyle. In actuality, we are indeed robbing other nations of their resources.

Iraq is now cornered. If they don't accept the UN proposed resolution, there will be a war and Iraq will die. If they accept the proposal, they die slowly.

It's now 1:35 and Sadam Hussein has agreed to let weapons inspectors into Iraq.
The threat of more terrorism doesn't stop here. US will continue to push for the elimination of terrorist groups and as long as Osama Bin Ladin is still alive, they will push for war.

The idea of peace grows further apart by the day. As long as there is power imbalance, there will be war. Canada may be a target. No one is safe.
