The wold is full of corruption. For the most part theft, murder, kidnapping and Cons, do to a large extent run in the veins of individuals in today's society. I hope that I have made the right decision today by putting trust in my own kind from which my roots run from. In the circumstance I was put into, I know that I could have said NO and keep that "half a day of work". But my conscience told me otherwise today. Perhaps it would have been put to good use if United Way had accepted this chairitable donation rather than speculating the likilhood of this individual being a Con Artist.
There aren't many honest people left in this world. There are all those people who have their lives hanging on a thin string and not receiving any help because there are too many people taking advantage of our social care system. There are so many people sitting around and doing nothing all their lives. It puts all the burden on the taxpayers. Those people should not be eligible to become a resident of Canada if they do not contribute to the well being of the country.
The Whole Story
I was delivering goods to Ruby Restaurant today and a chinese guy approached me. He told me that he deposited a cheque in the bank and didn't realize that he couldn't make a withdrawl for 5 business days. He needed money for gas and medicine. I wasn't convinced that I should lend this money to him at first because I wanted to be sure that it wasn't a scam. How do you tell by looking at someone anyways? The only thing that I could base my decision on was how much I trust another chinese person. I took his address down and lent him $60 with his promise to call me and return the money.
