Weekend
This weekend is one of the busiest weekends of the year because it's the one before Chinese New Year. Today I woke up at 6:00 am. Along with my younger brother, we went to go help our parents out at our factory. There were many tasks to be completed and I'm sure that my parents only had slept 1-2 hours that night. I felt really bad seeing them suffering so much. But I guess not many people really know what it really means to endure pain like my parents. I remember my grandmother telling me stories at the dinner table, about the many hardships they have been through before being able to come to Canada. That every step of the way presented new challenges. That was 25 years ago.
Looking back on my life, I think that I've been through a lot and really saw the reality of this world. I know that somtimes, I had wished that I'd be born into a rich family so that I wouldn't have to do chores or worry about my finances. However, in this respect I am grateful knowing that it was my sweat and my blood that got me to where I am today. I know that many people nowadays are so spoiled to the point that they become a king, not giving a thought about the sacrifices that must be made to fulfill those requests. I am also deeply troubled and concerned about the welfare of today's children and society. I remember walking through a mall, and lisening to some of the comments that were being passed around. It seems as though that people don't show any respect anymore as the "freedom of expression" takes hold. These were some of the things going through my head...
So going back to today, I spent the majority of my day helping out my parents. I got off work today at 7:00 pm to go home to take a shower. I am just so exhausted from work. For most of the day I had been driving and almost fell asleep from exhaustion. Time to goto sleep... Tomorrow is another work day....
