Why do people love money so much? Well, of course because if you have it, you can buy anything you like. It's also just a tiny piece of paper with a number written on it, but people would kill for it because it has value. How I envy the power of the central banker David Dodge. He has the power to cause global chaos, the power to take what is mine and yours and throw it away.

Lately, one of my friends was telling me how little money she has and the long hours she must work for extra money. My initial reaction was that since we're all students, we're all boke and need money. But her situation was a little more complicated because she is upset since one of her subletters for her house ditched them at the last possible minute and now she must lose money on the sublet. That actually almost happened to me last term, except that at the last possible time, we found a couple of people from Pakistan to sublet the place at a relative small loss compared to some of my friends. At first, they looked like really great people, but they gave me some grief last month by racking up a $500 phone bill on my account. I was a little scared they wouldn't pay me, but I had a talk with them and everything settled well.

The only suggestion that I can make for my friend is that life is full of lessons and this is one of them. Next time she should pay more attention to her responsibilities. Since she did sign a contract, she should make sure that if someone were to sublet the place, that individual should sign a contract and pay a deposit of 2 months rent. (Common Procedure) Also, a lot of individuals make the mistake of not reading their contract which is a big MISTAKE. It should be noted on the contract penalities for not paying on-time and other means of liability enforcement.

Money affects mood, surrounding, friendship and every possible thing that we can think of. To me, it's just a number in a bank account. It gets moved around and jumps up and down. People feel good when goes up and tend to be very cheap when they are running at a shortage. People always think that I have so much money but in actualality, I'm just an average guy. The main differenct is that I didn't spend my money buying a car. So I sacrifice consumption today for investment tomorrow. I'm not an all so spectacular investor but just an average joe with a passion to follow the markets. I want to learn everything that there is to learn and become a successful portfolio manager.

There is only one more area that requires more strength and courage than any other.
